Freeport is mainly a trading port that gained popularity as it’s one of the few stops along the way to the capital. Many traders frequently set up shop in the marketplace to peddle their wares, fisherman make a livable allowance selling to shops and restaurant (while most hope to be find employment aboard a pirating vessel), and most of the previous generation are retired seafarers who settled down after a life on the ocean. Many of the older men joke that Freeport’s greatest export however, is women. Which is because they all leave for either school at the capital, marry a dashing mariner, or take after their merchant fathers and captain the family trading boats. Because of the number of pirates turned merchant though, this city remains a bustling hub of trade due to an honored pact to not attack merchants coming or going between Freeport and it’s two neighboring cities.
